My grandmother's buttons
Monday, September 13, 2004
So, over the past week, I've brought home a heap of my grandmother's buttons from my Mom's house....the amazing thing is that I took a fraction of them...there are probably 3 more button boxes there. For those who don't do crazy quilting, buttons are an integral part of the design and so invaluable! So, I randomly went through and picked up some of the ones that intrigued me the most or I thought would go with my current projects:

So, in trying to "research" the background of buttons, I ran across: Collecting antique buttons - a pretty good short history. I need to find more in depth articles tho.

What a wonderful selection of buttons from your Grandmother's button box. I love old buttons, they are so individual and add a real special touch to crazy patch.

Thanks! I used to drool over these same buttons as a little girl! Makes me wonder if I was always meant to crazy quilt!
