I have no idea where I found a link to Velda Newman's quilts, but WOW! Love em! Definately worth a browse!

Thanks for the Velda reminder! I remember reading articles in Threads when she was just getting noticed and being floored by the detail she puts in--just gorgeous, and some of the pieces are huge.

There is a nice article on Velda in the Spring 2005 issue of "American Quilter" ("Think Big", p. 34), and in case you haven't seen it, there is a book "A Workshop with Velda Newman, Adding Dimension to Your Quilts". Her work has a great appeal, and I am pretty amazed at the sheer size of many of her pieces. Jen
