why I hate my sewing machine

Ok, I have a confession to make, and knowing my blog audience, this may be a scandalous revelation, but I hate sewing machines!
Not my machine in particular (I have a great Singer, that Leslie traded me for some webwork) but ALL sewing machines. Now, the interesting part of this revelation is that I'm saying this from complete ignorance.
I hate my sewing machine because I don't understand it. I'm sitting here with all the parts out in front of me, trying to figure out what I'm doing and I'm lost. I HATE feeling ignorant and I can't believe something that should be simple can be so complicated.

Wish I lived close enough to come over and fix it for you - I'd trade for some web work!! Love the new look of your blog - I'm assuming you designed it.

oh my, i too would come and help you if i could--i can take mine apart blindfolded--and put it back together and make it work better (with no "one last screw that doesn't go anywhere")

Is there a sewing store nearby where you can take a basic how-to use my machine class? I took one about 3 years after buying my machine and it made a big difference for me. Keep at it!
