Here's more eye candy from that fantastic crazy quilt I got to see and photograph. I think the work on it is fascinating. The owners are on vacation, but I'll try to furnish more fascinating statistics when they get back.



Note and update: I have deleted my erroneous date "guess" (see comments) - I'll update you all when I get more information about them!

200 years? Were CQ's made that long ago????

I'm wondering why you think 200 years? The fabrics I see don't look that old on my monitor... and CQ wasn't around 200 years ago... more like 1880-1920.

Details on your dating the work, please...

Yep, Arlee called me on that too. That was just what the quilt owner said - which made no sense after I published it so everyone could see my lack of dating expertise! I wouldn't be surprised if the fabrics are probably about 80-100 years old (it's wool and wovens mostly). Unfortunately they were on their way out of town and the husband who's the expert on the quilts left before he could give me more info.
I'm going to point them to Cindy Brick who does appraises Crazy Quilts. Be interesting to see what her take on it is.
