Traditional Quilting...it's a first for me
Thursday, December 28, 2006
Ok, time to make peace with beta blogger (I have to say, ick!) - but I'm going to maybe be snowed in a for a few more days, so have some projects and other stuff I want to blog.
Not sure how much I blogged about it, but I took a traditional quilt class from Quilt U some time ago, and decided that my fabrics were all wrong for the project she wanted us to do (all small triangles) so lucky for me, I have a quilt client (web design) who makes fantastic simple patterns. This one is "Saved by the Square". I did it all wrong (actually added the 1/4 inch rather than realizing it was part of it) but at least I'm consistent!
So, here's the beginning:

We're off to do errands this morning, but I guess we're going to get snowed in this afternoon, so it looks like a good afternoon project to me! I'm going to use the same pattern on Missy C's kitty quilt if I can ever finish the blocks.

This is turning out very cute, and as long as your mistake is consistent, you should be okay! Can't wait to see more of it... the snow will probably let you get lots done.
