Back into it....aka "Summer Begins"

I seem to have arrived at the motherlode! Being in a neighborhood with huge amounts of Mom's with young kids...guess what quite a few are getting rid of! Their wedding dresses! This one comes from my massively creative friend Claudia! Isn't it gorgeous? She was worried about a little dirt around the bottom edge and so yet I'm picturing doing some dying! Oooo....ok, you know I'm truly a crazy quilter when I see a beautiful wedding dress and all I can see is how to start cutting it up!

Well, we have started getting organized for the summer...schedules, chore charts, tons of activities and I'm trying to schedule in time for art and craft! I need to organize my studio (which is a dumping ground for some reason) and start playing with some new ideas.
I've also been massively slack with blogging, but I'm back on that too!
My apologies to webring folks...the ring was beseiged with tons of spam entries which I've been trying to wade through. The spammers newest trick is to submit entries in other languages. Since we have members of the ring from all over the world, I'm often duped and then install some hideous spamwear or virus. UGH! BAD SPAMMERS! Anyway, I hope to have it all cleaned up over this weekend.
If you pop by the blog...wave and say Hi! I need encouragement right now to keep up my entries...and knowing you're all there would help a lot!

Hi M-F! I'm here and reading. Amazingly gorgeous children you have. Can't believe how much they've grown! Was that you that commented on my Yellow Room? Alas, it's boring beige now - must take a picture. Hope some avid house buyer loves it. I find it less than inspiring, but sort of like the starkness of the room. Hey! I had to go BUY FABRIC today; can you believe it? All my cottons are in storage on the back wall and NOT accessible!

We are here - believe me, we are here.

Nasty little spammers - in a purely Australian curse - I hope all their chooks turn into emus and kick their dunnies down! (you may need to ask nearest and dearest to translate)

What exactly will you DO with a wedding dress to cut up? My daughter wants me to make a quilot of her wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses she has worn. I don't know how to begin!

Hey all! Thanks for saying hi! Linda...that's funny...and I knew what a "chook" is! (had to ask about dunnies tho)
Jane....crazy quilters cut up wedding dresses and use them to embellish crazy quilt blocks. They come with satin and lace and you can use them as an "all in one" embellishment. You can also just take all the lace off and use it. I'll post an example when I get the scissors to it!

Glad to know you're so excited about cutting into the dress! I just realized something grand. . . I didn't just "get rid of the dress" but I've passed it on to a whole new life!

Wow! I'm even happier that it's been given away. I can't wait to hear more of your plans and see what you do!
