Brazilian, hand applique, and many many activities!

This is the beginning of Tina's wedding quilt! Finally! I ran some of the fabric through my printer and got kind of a rustic photo of the place they were married. The girl (Tina) will sit in the fragments of the old wedding dress in the center. It's coming along nicely now...probably be next weekend before I get out the pattern of the girl tho.
Then, this is a little piece that we took as a "mini-class" from Christine Hause during our crazy quilting meeting. I still have mixed feelings about Brazillian, but it's done and looks fairly nice:
So, I had mentioned my mother in law is visiting and I dragged her (not totally unwillingly! :-)) to a 2 hour extended Brazillian Embroidery class with Christine to make this:
Here's my doodle cloth with the practice stitches and my notes....I've only done a few stems on the actual piece so nothing really to show yet!
And as a grand finale, here's Harry. I threw this little piece of cut off applique on his head and it didn't seem to bother him in the slightest...just wanted to hang out while I was sewing.
Anyway, several projects are moving along nicely. With a LOT Of help from Ellen, I managed to finish a pair of pajamas for Matey Moo (Bob the Builder fabric). Now I need to do some Cinderella ones for Missy C....on my own (bum, bum, bum bum.....roll here). We'll see how good I am without someone to show me every little step. I am LOVING the serger tho. I can definately see the appeal!
Anyway, I'll get a picture of that later. Big work day tomorrow, but I'll try to catch up more throughout the week!
Tina's soon to be neat quilt.

At any rate, I'm thrilled with the results (the combo) and now that I know what I'm doing, I think it will all go together fairly quickly (famous last words, eh?). Oh and by the way, my mother in law is sitting here picking out the seams from the old wedding dress (if you don't know the story, read here) and Tina, there are like 8 rows of stitching in some areas...quite the alterations gal! Oh well, old wounds, eh?
I spent my craft morning on Friday working on some old projects, the kitty quilt and my landscape. Be nice to get either/both of them done. I think I'm becomming the UFO queen!

Fabulous Mother's day....some stitching news!

This was my Mother's Day breakfast (aren't I totally lucky?):

A lot of crafty bloggers I know do blog some recipies and while I cook ocassionally, the fancy stuff is left to my husband who is a fantastic (you have no idea) cook. This is eggs benedict with a side of mango salsa. It was fantastic. The gift is a book about how to pamper yourself....ahhhhh...gotta love my family! :-) Cheyenne made me 10 Mother's day cards, my Mom and Dad came over for a barbque....all in all a lovely day.
The day before was my crazy quilting group (aren't I spoiled)....where we worked on a small brazillian embroidery project (you can see the kit picture on the front of our website). I absolutely spoiled myself with the purchase of a q-snap frame. This one is 17" x 17"...big enough for my big projects. (This is my australian landscape I've been working on for FOREVER). Q-snaps are fantastic (if you've never used one)...they are like PVC with a little clip...you can use the clip to stretch or release your fabric as you stitch. I got mine from Christine (in our Crazy Quilt group)...she has them at excellent prices if you're interested.
It's attached to a "sit Upon" (Not sure I have that written right) but you sit on a paddle and then can adjust the arm to whereever so you can sit and work while waching TV. I'm told they are about $50, so I may have to save my pennies for that purchase:
I weighed myself for weight watchers this morning and YUCK! I think tomorrow I'll drop off my bike to be repaired and start getting some exercise. (getting rid of all signs of candy in this house wouldn't hurt either - oh, and as I scroll back, of course the eggs benedict were a terrible idea! :-) ).
Ever have one of those months?

I have been reading lots and lots of blogs and working on my Houseblog and the site that has grown up out of it. I've also been redesigning a website for a Realtor, so keeping busy.
I'm nearing the deadline for the postcards that have to go to Australia and I have to get my Christmas ball decorations done for the Crazy Quilting group.I want to work on Tina's quilt....I finally decided I wasn't fond of the blue fabric she picked out, so maybe tomorrow I'll run to the fabric store and pick a new one out. I'd love to get that done for her. I'm to the point I know exactly what I want to do, it's just a matter of doing it! :-)

We're doing lace ornaments (embellished of course) for a fundraiser for the Rocky Mountain Crazy quilters, these are mine so far (some are still in progress). Our meeting is tomorrow and I'm hoping to have pictures up on our little fundraising website.
