Are you confused there are two Bloggers Who Embellish Rings? After years of dealing with Ringsurf and their lack of customer service along with tools to help make this a better ring, we decided to move the ring over to WebRing.com. Sadly, despite many efforts to transfer that ring back to me when the 2nd owner (I started the ring) had some family issues, that ring was passed on to someone who was not a known member of the ring. I have emailed the new owner to try to work something out and finally took down all the links to my website (they were still using the icon I designed). It may be sour grapes, but I'd love to see everyone permanently move over here and delete their membership there, but of course I can't force anyone.
New to webrings?? What is a WebRing: A WebRing is an Internet service and concept which links together a group of sites that have the same theme. In each WebRing, member Web sites have banded together to form their sites into linked circles. Their purpose: to allow more visitors to reach them quickly and easily. Each site is linked to another by a simple navigation bar. Generally, users can navigate forwards, backwards, skipping a certain number of sites, visit sites randomly, or see a list of all the sites on the ring. |
Tech SupportIf you're having problems with the Webring code, here's our quick and easy solution (but you must read through because if you don't do all the steps it won't work correctly Step 1: This is the html version of the code - because I have changed the size of our webring code from the one traditionally used by WebRing, you need to use this one so the code isn't skewed off to the side. So, paste this code into your blog template: <!--New bloggers who embellish start--> Step 2 - getting yourself in the webring: However, the 2nd VERY important step is that you need to change the bold NN copy to your webring number (there are 3 places it needs to be changed).. Your webring number is available on the WebRing Site. To tell your ID number, go to Webring.com and click on "my account" in the upper right hand corner. At the bottom of that screen, you will see a tab that says "memberships". Click on that and then your site title on the line with the "bloggers who embellish" ring. That will bring up a subpage. If you look up in the URL above you will see your id=1 (or whatever) in the URL. If you have issues with this, feel free to email me and I can look up your ring number. Step 3 (there isn't any step 3) Here is how your code will appear: Forum and Yahoo GroupsThe really great thing about WebRing.com is we have a new forum over there! Come visit us here! Or you can visit us at our Yahoo group (although I hope to phase this out once the other forum takes off) |
