We have 3 cats.

And because we have 3 cats, a dog and two lovely children - THAT is why I won't buy new furniture! This made me laugh out loud this morning tho!

Needle Felting is so much fun! :)

It's snowing here after a freak 75 degree day yesterday! You have to love weather don't you? We went out to dinner and bowling (just Rex and I) last night and I wore just a sweater...today there's about 3 inches of snow on the ground!

HOwever, it was a perfect morning to wake up and do a little research on needle felting! I started (and finished? Maybe?) my first project and it's really really fun!

I have to admit that I was scared, so this morning I hit the internet in search of resources. I found this:

The best tutorial I could find and it definately gave me some direction. However, if you put "needlefelting" in at YouTube there are several there that are a lot of help. Good thing! Because the directions that came with the kit were awful, so I actually made up most of what I did! Missy C felt that the pattern looked like a dog anyway, so I think mine is cuter! :) I might still add a bit, but I'm happy for now!

Social Networking - a time waster?

For some bizarre reason this morning I have been sucked into the vortex of social networking. I'm sort of bad anyway, but I started reading blog, then got wandering...well you know. My Space is so tacky. I just wonder if I would have loved it in High School.

Anyway, I found a cute site that does these - a random photo of Missy C. I think it does the best with portraits, but it's a good time waster.

I think it turned out pretty cute.

Then there's this http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ - really interesting - anonymous postcards revealing deep dark secrets. Oh, and I'm playing on Twitter. Still not sure what I think of it (you can see my updates in the sidebar).

Ok, enough playing. I really really need to get to work! SIGH!

I hate shopping in stores and malls. I think 9 years of working retail kind of soured me on the "joys of Christmas shopping". So, yes, I do everything on the internet....I haven't quite gotten to buying groceries there, but Rex actually likes going to the grocery store, so I guess I don't have to bail on that one yet.

So, here's to the joy of sitting in my living room, downing hot cocoa, listing to carols and doing ALL my shopping!

Bloggers who embellish ring

For those who don't know, I'm the ringmaster (which sounds very circusy) behind the Bloggers who Embellish ring. Of late (the last 5-6 months) the ring has been hit by spammers, and spammers and spammers. Luckily, I have to hand approve everyone in the group, but it gets exhausting....so I just put it off and approved each weekend. This weekend I've been so busy revamping our Rocky Mountain Crazy Quilters group site (more great links with more description coming soon) that I didn't even check the list....well, we have 13 new fabulous ring members!

Just a note to all who are on the ring...I'm not really nasty about issues getting the ringcode in. Feedback from ring members is that they use the list more than the "forward and back" buttons and I want NEW bloggers (who maybe fantastic embellishers) to be in the ring. I'm always looking for volunteers to go through the ring and help me purge old dead sites and gently help folks get the ring code on tho! :-)

However, I also put together a "support group" at Yahoo (which I just realized there's no link to on the blog ring site -must fix that!)...where folks can go back through old questions and ask new ones. I adore the world of fiber artists and I think the more who can blog their work, the more inspiration I get (all selfish, I assure you!).
